Fall Day Trip By SMKelley
Fall is just around the corner! If you’re looking for a lovely day trip or long weekend excursion, check out the mystique of The Virginia Hunt Country. Within an hours drive from Arlington, where 66 intersects Rte.50, sits the town of Middleburg, VA. This lovely, leisurely drive brings to life the feeling you have just been transported back in time. You’ll experience hunters riding horses wearing their typical hunter's garb, with howling hounds running out of the wooded forest chasing fox. Scattered throughout the winding roads you’ll see a good many Equestrian Farms with foe and all those mystical things associated with horses. (e.g. steeplechase, tracks, and the occasional Hunt & Hound Festival). Honestly, driving by the Estates of Grandeur of famous socialites is enjoyable by itself. The estates with their lovely manicured lawns surrounded by rock fences, makes you realize this is a rare find. It certainly is a grand lifestyle for the elite.
